Apple files patent for ‘Chameleon’ technology

A report on The Mac Observer notes that in February, Apple filed a patent for an ”Active enclosure for computing device.” The patent application describes the invention as:

A computing device is disclosed. The computing device includes a housing having an illuminable portion. The computing device also includes a light device disposed inside the housing. The light device is configured to illuminate the illuminable portion.

This essentially means that a user would be able to alter the appearance of their Mac at their pleasure.
