U.S. opening some private mail in terror fight

First the spying, now this?

The government is opening your mail!  Part of me says “yeah, I could see why that could be necessary..”.

But if we let this stand, then it’ll become commonplace and any expectations of mail privacy we have are then gone.

I feel like I’m living in a police state!

Arrrgggghhhhh!!!!!

Drama queen.

International mail (mail coming from outside the US) is subject to screening.  It wouldn’t surprise me if there’s some BS politically-correct regulation requiring that they don’t profile the incoming mail based on who it’s from or to, and therefore are taking random samples of all mail.  Kind of like when a 90 year old grandma gets pulled aside by the screeners at the airport to check for boxcutters.

I don’t see anything nefarious in this.
